Keanu Reeves is a globally renowned American actor who’s best known for doing films like ‘Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure,’ ‘Speed,’ ‘The Matrix’ and ‘John Wick,’ among many other projects. He’s one of the highest-paid actors in the category of A-listed Hollywood actors. Many big production houses usually line up to sign him for a film. With many global box office hits, he’s one of the most bankable actors. He is one of the few actors with zero haters.

Keanu Reeves came into the limelight with the film ‘River’s Edge’ and garnered wide recognition in the Hollywood film industry with the comedy film Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and its sequel, Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey. Reeves was a part of many blockbuster action films that and the list includes films like ‘Speed’ and the sci-fi blockbusters like ‘The Matrix’ and its sequels, as well as more art-house fare like My Own Private Idaho and The Private Lives of Pippa Lee, John Wick among many other projects. Keanu Reeves was born on September 2, 1964, in Beirut, Lebanon. He spent most of his childhood in Toronto, Canada. Reeves’s mother was an English performer and costume designer, and his father was a Hawaiian geologist. His parents got divorced at an early age, and he lived with his mother. After the divorce, the family shifted to many places like Sydney, followed by New York City, and finally to Toronto, where Reeves grew up. He moved around a lot as a child and he also struggled a lot in school due to dyslexia. As a teenager, Keanu Reeves was expelled at the age of 16 because, in his own words, “I was just a little too rambunctious and shot my mouth off once too often”.

Due to his dyslexia issue, he struggled a lot in school and got transferred to four different high schools.  He enrolled in the art school which he left to pursue an acting career. He ventured into acting with the comedy series ‘Hangin’ in the year 1984.

After playing side roles in many TV movies and shows, Reeves made his film debut in the year 1986 with the sports-centric film ‘Youngblood’ in which he brilliantly played the role of a hockey player. In the same year, Reeves came into the limelight for his stunning performance in the bleak drama ‘River’s Edge’ in which he played the role of a son of an alcoholic father (Andy Griffith). In the later years, he appeared in many films including ‘Dangerous Liaisons’ (1988), the slacker comedy ‘Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure (1989)’ and the film went on to become a hit. In the same year, he has also acted in Ron Howard’s Parenthood.

Between the years 1995-96 Reeves appeared in many unsuccessful films that aren’t received well by critics and the film audience. In this period he starred in films like Mnemonic (1995), the romantic drama A Walk in the Clouds (1995), and the crime comedy Feeling Minnesota (1996). In the year 1997, he starred in the film ‘The Devil’s Advocate’ in which he played a lawyer who falls under the spell of the Devil (Al Pacino). The year 1999 proved to be a game-changing year for Reeves as he appeared in the sci-fi cult classic film ‘The Matrix’. The film was a huge success at the box office and was highly praised by both critics and the film audience. The success of the film launched a hugely successful franchise that included two sequels. After working in a series of successful films, Reeves was cast for the role of a classic antihero in the film ‘John Wick’. This film was released in the year 2014 and become a blockbuster a huge hit, and sequels followed (2017 and 2019). Reeves’s later films included The Whole Truth (2016), To the Bone (2017), Destination Wedding (2018), and Always Be My Maybe (2019). In 2020 he returned to his first movie franchise, starring in the well-received Bill & Ted Face the Music.

Reeves isn’t married and has a very sad relation life.  His girlfriend Jennifer Syme gave birth to a stillborn daughter whom the couple named Ava Archer Syme-Reeves. In the year 2001, Syme was killed in an unfortunate car accident and was buried next to their daughter.
