Kate Winslet will star in HBO’s ‘The Palace.’


It has been announced that the talented actor Kate Winslet will play the lead role in the upcoming series “The Palace.” Additionally, Winslet will serve as an executive producer on the film. As the show’s creator, executive producer, and showrunner, Will Tracy will oversee all aspects of production. In addition to executive producing, Stephen Frears will direct the film and Frank Rich will serve as an executive producer. Writers such as Seth Reiss, Juli Weiner, and Jen Spyra will also collaborate on the series.

According to Variety, the plot of “The Palace” follows the events that take place behind the walls of an authoritarian dictatorship’s palace over the course of one year as the system begins to fall apart.

Winslet is now in talks to play the lead role in the upcoming HBO limited series adaptation of Hernan Diaz’s novel of the same name, titled “The Trust.” A few years before that, she earned an Emmy Award for her performance in the HBO limited series “Mare of Easttown.” Winslet also won Emmys for ‘Mildred Pierce’ in 2011. Her seven Oscar nominations include ‘Titanic,’ ‘Iris,’ and ‘Little Children’ She received an Oscar for ‘The Reader’ in 2009.
