RRR director SS Rajamouli praised his team on Tuesday for clearing out the Sankranthi film calendar. His comments came after the Active Telugu Film Producers Guild revealed at a press conference in Hyderabad on Tuesday that Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati’s Bheemla Nayak had been postponed. Their statement permits the two pan-Indian films — RRR and Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam — to be released smoothly in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

With the recent alterations to the Sankranthi film release schedule, it is believed that RRR and Radhe Shyam would set the box office ablaze at the box office.

Sarkaru Vaari Paata, directed by Mahesh Babu, was the first film to postpone its release to provide RRR more time. In order to prevent a box office clash, Parasuram Petla’s film was postponed from January 13 to April 1. Rajamouli congratulated Mahesh Babu for avoiding the crowded Pongal release schedule in a social media message. Rajamouli tweeted, “@urstrulyMahesh was the one who took the initiative in decluttering the Pongal releases… Even though #SarkaruVaariPaata was a perfect Pongal film, he moved it to summer and created a healthy atmosphere. Thanks to my Hero and also to the entire team at @MythriOfficial,”

Director SS Rajamouli praised the Bheemla Nayak crew and Mahesh Babu on Tuesday for rescheduling their respective films from the Sankranthi season and assisting in the smooth release of RRR and Radhe Shyam in Telugu states.

Rajamouli thanked the creators of Bheemla Nayak in a tweet. “The decision by Chinababu garu and Pawan Kalyan garu to defer the release date of #BheemlaNayak is well appreciated. Wishing the team all the very best.”

Pawan Kalyan‘s Bheemla Nayak, which was originally set for a January 12 release, will now have a single theatrical release in Telugu states on February 25. F3, Dil Raju’s production, which was scheduled to be released on this date in February, will now be released on April 29. Rajamouli also praised Dil Raju for rescheduling F3’s release date. The Baahubali filmmaker stated in his tweet, “Also, thanks to Dil Raju Garu and the #F3Movie team for shifting the release of their film. Best wishes!”
