Prithviraj, the historical drama based on the life of warrior Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan and starring Akshay Kumar in the title role, has been delayed. The film had to be released in theatres on January 21. The move appears to have been made in response to an increase in Covid-19 cases throughout the country, which has resulted in the closing of cinema halls in a few states.
Taran Adarsh, a film trade expert, shared the news on Twitter. He penned,
“‘PRITHVIRAJ’ NOT ON 21 JAN… YRF NOT DECIDED ON NEW RELEASE DATE YET… #Prithviraj #AkshayKumar #YRF.”
Akshay Kumar, who portrays the title character in the film, has described the historical drama as a testament to the warrior’s heroism and life. “The more I learned about him, the more I was awestruck by how he lived and breathed every single second of his beautiful life for his nation and his principles,” the actor previously stated.
