Rana Daggubati is one of the prominent actors in Indian cinema. He worked in a number of successful films in different languages like Telugu, Hindi, and Tamil. Rana was voted as the most “The Most Promising Newcomer of 2011” in the Times Of India poll when his Bollywood debut film Dum Maaro Dum, which released on 22 April 2011. He was listed at number 20 on the Times of India’s Most Desirable Men for the year 2011 and he jumped to the 10th position in 2012. He also became famous for his role Bhallala Deva in the blockbuster film Baahubali.

Rana Daggubati’s Early Life


Rana Daggubati was born on 14th December 1984 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He is the son of popular producer D. Suresh Babu, the grandson of D. Ramanaidu, and the nephew of actor Venkatesh. He completed his schooling at Hyderabad Public School which is located at Begumpet. He dropped out of the B.Com course and then completed his graduation in Industrial photography from Chennai Film School. During this period, he produced several documentaries and advertisement films.

Rana made his debut in the Telugu film industry in the year 2010 with Sekhar Kammula’s film ‘Leader’. Rana was cast as the lead antagonist in the stunning blockbuster film ‘Baahubali’. In the film, Rana played the character of Ballaladeva who had negative shades and received unprecedented appreciation from critics. The film went on to become the highest-grossing film in India at the time of its release. He reprised his role in its sequel Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. The film became the first Indian film to cross 1000 crore and is currently the second highest-grossing Indian film.

Rana Daggubati’s ‘The Ghazi Attack’ (2017)

In the year 2017, Rana was cast in India’s first underwater film titled ‘The Ghazi Attack’. The film did good business at the box office and with critics praising the performance of the lead cast.
