Sanjay Dutt was born on 29th July 1959 in Bombay, Maharashtra and is the son of the late actors Nargis and Sunil Dutt. He also has two sisters, Priya Dutt and Namrata Dutt (Anju). He did his schooling at Lawrence School, Sanawar (Himachal Pradesh). During his schooling days, he struggled a lot with drug addiction to overcome the grief of his mother’s death in the year 1981 due to pancreatic cancer. Later, he was sent to Jackson, Mississippi in the United States for drug rehab and after a lot of struggle, he finally managed to drive off his drug addiction.
Sanjay Dutt’s Acting Career
Sanjay Dutt made his acting debut in Bollywood in 1981 with the film ‘Rocky’. The film was produced and directed by his father, Sunil Dutt and it went on to become a blockbuster upon its release. Dutt received a lot of acclaims, award nominations, and a huge fan following. He then went on to appear in a number of blockbusters and successfully film ventures like Vidhaata (1982), Naam (1986), and Hathyar (1989). He shot to immense fame and established himself as one a leading actor in Bollywood with Subhash Ghai’s Khalnayak (1993). The film went on to become a Blockbuster and achieved cult status. Sanjay was married to Richa Sharma in the year 1987 but unfortunately, she died of cancer in 1996. The couple had a daughter named Trishala Dutt who’s currently settled in the United States. Dutt then got married to Rhea Pillai but their relation ended up with a divorce. He then got married for the third time to Dilnawaz Shaikh, also known as Manyata. The couple gave birth to twins, a baby girl, and a baby boy on October 21, 2010.
